Where can my child have their assessment and therapy?
In the setting that your child will be most comfortable. This could be at your home or nursery/school for example.
My child is seeing an NHS speech therapist, can they see a private therapist too?
This is nice and quick - Yes they can.
Your child can access both services without them conflicting. I am always happy to contact the NHS therapist and make sure we are working as a team.
What does therapy involve?
Usually there will be an assessment session, and verbal feedback, with ideas and strategies. Follow up therapy is then offered which includes ideas and activities to do at home/nursery/school.
There is the option to have things in writing and liaison with education setting.
